London, November 9 2018 –  Challenge Advisory is pleased to share that Karsten Temme, Ph.D., Chief Executive Officer, Pivot Bio, will be speaking at AG4.0 in San Francisco, 14-15 November.

Dr. Temme will be part of the ‘Profitable Sustainability” panel, where discussions will focus on the many ways technology in agriculture can improve both the farmer’s bottom line and the water and air we rely on. Farmers continue to require new tools that help them produce enough food using efficient and sustainable practices.  These innovations will come, in part, from the application of advanced technologies that deliver better information to the farmer, better nutrients to the crop, and ultimately better crops to the market.

As CEO, Dr. Temme is overseeing the market introduction of Pivot Bio PROVEN™, the company’s first commercial product. Available to farmers in the U.S. for 2019 planting, Pivot Bio PROVEN™ is a naturally-occurring microbe that readily colonizes along corn roots and provides a daily nitrogen to the crop in the field.  Dr. Temme says of Pivot Bio’s participation at AG4.0 “We are excited to share information about how our new microbial product can be an integral part of farmers’ crop nutrition management plan. Pivot Bio’s microbes let the land work harder for the farmer, providing nitrogen to corn at the dose they need without the concerns experienced with synthetic nitrogen fertilizer. It doesn’t wash away or volatilize into the air. Pivot Bio PROVEN™ acts as an ecological side dressing, saving farmers time and wear-and-tear on machinery by replacing the mechanical side dressing practiced today.”

AG 4.0 will be a workshop aimed at improving the understanding of modern agriculture practices and creating interoperable solutions. Join the debate with over 40 speakers, and network with key agriculture experts, academics, stakeholders, and everyone else involved in the agriculture supply chain.
