London, September 7th, 2018 – Challenge Advisory has invited Jamie Bacher, PH. D, CEO and Co-Founder, Boost Biomes- to speak at AG4.0 workshop in San Francisco from 14-15 November.
Mr. Bacher will be part of the ‘Biotechnology’ panel, where discussions will mainly focus on the relation of societal understandings and perspectives on the bio-tech industry in farming, and the question on where resources would be best allocated in relation to the safeguarding of US agriculture and its progression. Also, the discussion will be addressing the Nitrogen’s issue and assessing the advanced technologies for understanding and engineering soil and crop microbiomes, to improve crop yield and food security.
Jamie has been at a number of biotech start-ups over the last decade, as well as large companies working closely with start-ups. He co-founded Boost Biomes to continue his efforts to bring together novel technologies and amazing people to solve big problems – in this case, food security and sustainability. He previously founded Pareto Biotechnologies, a synthetic biology company, to enable bioproduction of an undervalued class of chemicals. He secured initial funding to launch the company and closed the company’s proof of concept partnership. Prior to Pareto, Jamie joined Total, the French energy company, to commercialize alternative energies.
About her participation at AG4.0 Dr. Bacher states: “Boost Biomes is working to feed and heal the world, by developing new products to improve microbial social networks. Our first targets are in agriculture, where AG4.0 provides an excellent platform to discuss critical issues. These include challenges such as fungal pests that destroy enough food every year, in the top five crops alone, to feed 600M people, or that 1/3 of our food goes to waste. AG4.0, and the technologies involved, will provide the systemic solutions to key, world-scale problems.”
