London, June 7th 2018 – Challenge Advisory have announced today that Amvac Chemical Corporation are confirmed partners of their Agriculture 4.0 workshop, a showcase designed around supporting the digitalisation of American agriculture.
AMVAC will be adding to the proceedings of Agriculture 4.0, an interoperability workshop to be hosted by Challenge Advisory in October 2018. The showcase is connecting key leaders from throughout the US supply chain and general tech spaces to address the most pressing challenges to the sector’s stability.
Bob Trogele, COO AMVAC Chemical Corporation, stated on their involvement “AMVAC is pleased to be participating in Agriculture 4.0 and its Challenge Advisory – Traceability and Transparency… AMVAC recognizes the importance of food production stewardship to maintain an abundant supply of quality food and fiber that is safely produced.”
AMVAC is deeply involved in this area with the development of their SIMPAS™ (Smart Integrated Multi-Product Prescriptive Application System) and Ultimus product tracking technologies. SIMPAS will allow farmers to apply the right products, at the right rate, at the right time, in the right places – the 4Rs of environmental stewardship. Their proprietary SIMPAS application equipment combines software, metering devices and RFID-tagged refillable containers, all communicating through wireless connections, applying products to only those parts of a field needing an insecticide, nematicide, fungicide, micronutrient, biological or soil amendment. The Ultimus™ tracking system will automatically provide forensic quality traceability of each product cartridge from the time a cartridge is filled with product, through each stage of the distribution channel, to the individual farmer, and continuously throughout each field as product is applied.
AMVAC is currently in beta testing of the SIMPAS system in cooperation with channel partners who have the ability to provide prescriptions to their farmers for crop inputs. AMVAC is developing systems that will accommodate both liquid and dry products. The initial launch for SIMPAS will be in 2020 featuring some of AMVAC’s own products.
Karveh Cavalieri, Managing Partner at Challenge Advisory, “Amvac’s inclusion to this workshop will be an interesting addition to discussions and proceedings. Their value-proposition is very important to modern agriculture, and I look forward to them working towards interoperable solutions with other workshop partners”.
Challenge Advisory are pleased to be able to announce this partnership and the inclusion of AMVAC in an ever-growing list of global disruptors and innovators who will be adding their voices to Agriculture 4.0.
