London, August 29th 2018 – Challenge Advisory has invited Dr. Karl G. Gutbrod –CEO of meteoblue AG to be a speaker at AG4.0 in San Francisco from 14-15 November 2018.
Dr. Gutbrod is set to be panellist on the “ROI in Precision Ag” stream, where discussion will focus on the factor that is making growers hesitant of investing in expensive new technologies.
On this topic, what is important to bear in mind is that what is profitable to a farmer may not be profitable to another. There is no “one-size fits all” technology, and it is a subjective exercise that molds into the specific needs of each agriculturalist, and AG4.0 experts will address this particular challenge.
Karl G. Gutbrod is CEO of meteoblue since 2007. He arrived to meteoblue with 25 years of experience in international agri-business, as project and unit leader in development, product management, marketing, business development and information services. Karl has worked for GTZ, DED, Ciba, Novartis and Syngenta, including jobs in Germany, Switzerland, USA, Brasil, Thailand, and China. Karl holds a PhD in agronomy from the University of Göttingen. Karl also teaches Business courses at the University of Cooperative Education in Lörrach.
Speaking of AG4.0, Dr. Gutbrod states :“Understanding the weather patterns in agricultural production is fundamental to increase profitability: We must understand and optimise performance of established and new technologies (field operations, seeds, fertilisation, crop protection) in the context of current weather patterns and climate change. AG4.0 will examine the weather and data exploitation technologies available to optimise farm output and resiliency.”
With the help of the Agricultural Supply Chain, Challenge Advisory have built strong insights into how digitalization can be integrated into US agriculture. The mission for our Agriculture 4.0 workshop is to help farmers better engage with the latest technology available in the market and present a wide range of solutions for the modern farmer.
To address these challenges, we have developed the AG40 workshop, a programme designed around bringing key stakeholders from throughout US agriculture together to tackle the most pressing issues in relation to the stability of the market.
