MacDon partners with Challenge Advisory at the Agri-business Summit, Brazil: Sustainable Intensification 25-26th October 2016

On April 27, 2016, Challenge Advisory announced a project partnership with MacDon Industries Ltd., an agricultural organisation from Manitoba, Canada that specialise in harvesting equipment, who will be attending Sustainable Intensification 2016 this year in October.

MacDon have been fully invested in the pursuit of harvesting excellence for over sixty-five years. Starting in 1949 as Killbery Industries Ltd, they produced one of the very first self-propelled windrowers in 1951 and began a tradition of high-quality, innovative harvesting products. They were bought by the MacDonald family in 1971, and with this acquisition Killbery became MacDon Industries Ltd.

Every windrower, draper header or pickup header is manufactured in-house at MacDon’s headquarters in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The facility handles many aspects of MacDon’s business, including R&D, Engineering, Quality Control, Manufacturing and Marketing, taking up a total space of over 85 acres (900,000 square feet). MacDon sell their products in forty countries, including Australia, Russia, Brazil and the United States, as well as their home country, Canada.

Commenting on MacDon’s involvement, head of Challenge Advisory’s Agri-business, Dr. Aubrey Longmore stated: “The current state of Brazilian machinery is unacceptable if we are to obtain maximum yield from agriculture, and an area with room for improvement is harvesting equipment. MacDon have impressive capabilities and experience in providing innovative harvesting equipment, and we expect that they will offer an exceptional product to the Brazilian farmer, and will contribute greatly to the sustainable intensification of Brazil.”
