Although the Blockchain space is one of the fastest rising industries, with a market value of over £100 bn in  cryptocurrency alone, sectoral stakeholders are still struggling to find experienced professionals and talent.

‘The tech recruiting is very thin. So, recruiting is hard.’ Said Brian Behlendorf, Executive Director of the Linux Foundation-led Hyperledger project.

The evidence of shortages can be seen on job boards and websites, according to the figure given by Buningglass. In the last year, recruitment in Blockchain has increased by three times on Indeed, and, according to analytics firm Burning Glass Technologies, blockchain-related job adverts have increased  from 1,838 in  2016 to around 4,000 in 2017 –  a 115% growth.

‘Is there a talent bubble? Yes. We haven’t even seen it yet,’ said Jerry Cuomo, IBM’s vice-president of blockchain technologies in June. ‘There is an entirely new way for businesses to interact – it is awesome and as this takes root it will be revolutionary.’
