Precision Medicine 2016 is based on the design principles of the Precision Medicine Initiative (PMI), based on the outline from President Barack Obama on the latest in integrated healthcare. There are many obstacles, however, that must be overcome in order for appropriate and optimal therapies based on patient analysis to become a reality.

Dr Lon Cardon, Ph.D. serves as Senior Vice President of Alternative Discovery and Development and Head of Target Sciences at GlaxoSmithKline. He has authored more than 200 scientific publications and 15 books and chapters, mainly focused on statistical genetics methodology and applications for many rare and common diseases.
Elena Bonfiglioli leads the Health Industry business for Microsoft in Europe, Middle East and Africa and she is a part of the World Wide Public Sector Health Team. In this role Elena is responsible to drive strategy and business development, partnerships and positioning for the region across public health, social services, providers and payors in the cure and care markets.
Matthew Swindells led the health team in the Prime Minister’s Office of Public Service Reform under Tony Blair. He has 18 years management experience in the NHS, including as Chief Executive of an acute hospital and cancer centre, where he lead the turn-around of the hospital from one of the poorest performing to one of the best performing in England.
